We are thrilled that Ballet Quad Cities has asked us to perform with them in their Nutcracker again this year!  We love our partnership with them and are so honored that when they perform in Cedar Rapids, they ask to work with our students first.

We will be performing as the “Angels” opening Act II.  We’ve done this a few times before and it has been a great experience for our performing dancers to get to be a part of a professional production!

We are first inviting dancers in Ballet 5, 5/6, 6, and Advanced Ballet to audition to perform!

Please fill out this form no later than Friday, November 8 to commit to the audition and performance if selected.

Here are the details!

Audition: 1:00-1:45 PM on Sunday, November 10.  Company dancers will attend the audition instead of company technique class on this day.

Rehearsals: during Ballet 6 and Advanced Ballet classes:

11/11 during Ballet 6 (5:30-6:45)
11/18 during ballet 6 (5:30-6:45)
11/20 during Advanced Ballet (5:30-6:45)
12/4 during Advanced Ballet (5:30-6:45)
12/6 - after school rehearsal at the studio if needed and dress rehearsal at the Paramount (evening, time to-be-determined)
(we are rehearsing during these class times to reduce our conflict in class times with classes learning Holiday Showcase dances).

Dancers must be present for at least 3 of the 4 class rehearsals, and at the dress rehearsal and both performances.  Please, only commit to this performance if you can meet the attendance requirement.

Performances: (at Paramount Theatre)
Saturday, December 7
2:30 PM and 7:30 PM - arrival times will be the start of the show

Costume/Items Needed/Cost:
Participation in this performance costs $50 + sales tax.
We rent the costume and hair piece from Ballet Quad Cities (the $50 participation fee covers this cost).  Dancers also need a nude camisole leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Miss Vanessa donates her time creating the choreography, directing the audition, teaching the material, and attending the dress rehearsals and performances.

We’re working on a group ticket order through the Paramount to help get a discounted price available for studio families - more information coming on that soon.
