Thank you for your interest in Haywood Early College. We are extremely proud of our students' dedication to their academic endeavors as well as our faculty's commitment to providing a top-notch, rigorous program of studies. We challenge prospective students to ask themselves if they are ready to work as an honors level student, engage in non-traditional learning activities, commit to earning both a high school diploma and associate degree, and pursue admission into a four-year university. Our staff is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment in which students not only are comfortable to challenge themselves individually but also collaborate with one another and their instructors.
Haywood Early College is a school of choice. Therefore, we only have a limited number of spots available each cohort year. HEC must utilize a process of selection to determine acceptance of students. Attendance, test scores, grades, and other academic measurements will be collected from previous schools. We will notify all applicants of our decision by US mail. Possible acceptance status results are: accepted, waitlisted, or declined. Acceptance is contingent on 8th/9th grade end of year report cards and test scores.
Prospective Student/Parent Night was held on Wednesday, January 17th at 6:00pm in HCC's Auditorium. If you were unable to attend, but would like to set up a meeting/tour, please call 565-4000 to schedule.
Rolling admissions after 1/31/24.
