PRODUCTION INFORMATION
What is Required?
This form is required for your audition. Please fill this out prior to your audition on Saturday, August 20th. After choosing an hour time slot, you will be assigned to a 20 minute time slot within that hour, along with 3 or 4 other auditionees in that same time slot, but you will be called individually to audition. An email confirmation will be sent by early August.
Resume and Head shot
Please list past experience in theatre, music, dance and education on a separate form, and bring a printed copy with a head shot or photo of yourself to give to the directors when you are called into your audition.
Please make yourself available for callbacks on Sunday, August 21st - 10am to 3pm. It may not go that long, but good to be prepared that it may take the whole time. If you are called back, you will learn dance steps, sing excerpts from the show and possibly read scenes from the script if you are called back for featured roles. Call backs will be announced online or via group email after 6pm on Saturday, August 20. Casting decisions will be made during the week following auditions and you will be contacted sometime that week.

Background Checks
Fort Collins Children’s Theatre (FCCT) has begun implementing a background check policy, effective May 1, 2019 for all volunteers, cast, and staff 18 years of age and older.
If you are cast, we will require a background check.
Why did we decide to do this?
-For the safety of children who are entrusted to our organization during their time with us.
-To provide a way for FCCT to ensure we are hiring employees and obtaining volunteers who have children’s best interest in mind.
-To abide by guidelines that are already in place at theatre companies all over the country.
We are looking for only a few key things when we run your background check:
-Have you been convicted of any felonies relating to weapons or harming others?
-Have you been charged with any crime related to inappropriate behavior with children?
Elf Character Breakdown:
Featured roles:
Buddy - Born a human but raised at the North Pole as a Christmas Elf, Buddy is eager to find his place in the world. He is a child at heart and that child-like curiosity makes him both endearing and gets him into trouble.
Jovie - Buddy's girlfriend. She works at Macy's and has a bit of a cynical outlook on life and love because of the men she's dated. She is caught off guard by Buddy's genuinely big heart.
Walter - Buddy's workaholic father. He is a Children's book writer, but lacks any of the childlike spirit that Buddy has. He is selfish, tense, and generally angry with life.
Emily - Walter's wife. Though she is sweet and willing to take him in, she thinks Buddy is crazy at first. Wishes her husband would spend more time with the family.
Michael - Buddy's stepbrother who is excited to have a new friend and brother. Unlike his mother, he doesn't take much convincing to have Christmas spirit, but like his mother, he wishes his father would spend more time with the family.
Deb - Walter's secretary. Takes an instant liking to Buddy simply for the novelty of it. Though she aims to please and is a bit of a suck-up, she feels under appreciated.
Manager - A manager at Macy's. He is a good, friendly guy just trying to do his job and get by.
Greenway - Walter's boss. He is what Walter will become if he continues down the path he is on. A tyrannical, workaholic who cares nothing about the people around him or who work for him.
Santa - Just another workingman. Loves his job and Christmas, but also likes to kick-back and watch the game when a rare opportunity arises. A natural storyteller.
Chadwick - One of Walter's right-hand men. He is desperate to keep his job, and perhaps the dumber of the two.
Matthews - One of Walter's right-hand men. He is desperate to keep his job and is the schemer of the two.
