In Hopewell Valley, three volunteer fire departments provide emergency Fire, Rescue, and Medical services:
Pennington Fire Company (Station 51) is located in Pennington Borough and covers the center of Hopewell Township
Hopewell Fire Department & Emergency Medical Unit (Station 52) is located in Hopewell Borough and covers the northeastern corner of Hopewell Township
Union Fire Company & Rescue Squad (Station 53) is located in Titusville and covers the southwest corner of Hopewell Township
Each department consists of three branches: Emergency Services, Administrative, and Auxiliary.
Emergency Services: provides fire, rescue, and medical services directly to our communities.
- Auxiliary: supports the department by assisting in non-operational tasks that enhance the effectiveness of the department.
Administrative: provides organizational support to the department, coordinates social and community events, and handles the general administrative tasks of the department.
All three Hopewell Valley fire departments have opportunities for anyone regardless of experience, age, or physical capabilities. Members as young as 14 and throughout their later years in life are welcome. Recently, we have sent members in their 60’s to Fire and EMT school. We also welcome seasonal members and college students.
Volunteering with your local fire department offers practical skills, rich camaraderie, and experiences that build confidence and community. Each department trains year-round and hosts community events throughout the year. We always put family, work, and school before volunteering, and we support each other in every aspect of our lives outside the department. We are one big family, and we are always welcoming members to our valley-wide emergency response community.
