The Peer-Led Rural Outreach Project aims to increase the availability of harm reduction support and resources for people who use drugs in rural and small-town communities in PEI.
The role of Peer Leaders is to promote health and safer substance use practices, within their personal networks and community, by:
- Distributing harm reduction tools and information
- Tracking the harm reduction tools distributed and the number of peers reached
- Supporting the collection of used materials when/if possible
- Connecting community members to other services
- Providing peer support to other Peer Leaders
