Still Moon Arts Society inspires vibrant and connected communities by creating art and nurturing a passion for nature.
This year, we are producing Salmon Sounds in Motion, a performance project with youth age 15-25.
Starr Muranko (Raven Spirit Dance) and Isabelle Kirouac, professional dancers and community-engaged choreographers, will lead youth through a research and creation process to produce a performance piece for three shows in August and September.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn dance/movement techniques, create choreography together, and learn about the Still Creek watershed. Performers of all kinds welcome, beginners and experienced artists alike! The piece we create, and the styles we add, will depend on who takes part. For example: street dance, contemporary dance, musical theatre, digital interface, film projection, music, percussion, puppetry, stilt-walking, juggling, ballet, tapdance.... Come contribute your skills and share your passion with the troupe!
Youth performers MUST be available for the following dates. If you miss more than 3 of these dates, you cannot participate. If you can only perform in either Vines Fest or Moon Fest, you can still take part. Feel free to email with any questions:
