French placement test
Welcome to the French Placement Test. This test is not designed for beginners. It has been created specifically for students who have achieved a certain level of proficiency in French (French 30, 31, FLA 30).

This test does not replace any prerequisite levels that you might have achieved.

It has 2 objectives: help you realize your actual oral and written understanding and proficiency, and help you register in a French course appropriate to your level. This test involves multiple choice questions in 3 categories:
- Oral comprehension
- Written comprehension
- Grammar

If you don't know an answer, select "je ne sais pas".

If you find all the correct answers to the "compréhension orale" section, you should register in French 2235, regardless of your scores in the other sections.

If you score:
-less than 50, you should register in French 1111
-between 50% and 60%, you should register in French 2216
-between 60% et 80%, you should register in French 2218
-more than 80 %, you should register in French 2235

Once you have completed the test, please forward a copy of it to the French coordinator (Justine Huet jhuet@mtroyal.ca) to confirm your placement in the correct class.
