The Iowa Department of Education, in support of the Future Ready Iowa Initiative, is partnering with the Iowa Restaurant Association Education Foundation, Iowa Hotel and Lodging Association, Iowa Gaming Association, Iowa Travel Industry Partners, Iowa Wholesale Beer Distributors Association, Iowa Tourism Office and Iowa Association of Career and Technical Education to develop this career pathways resource to highlight a wide range of exciting career opportunities in Iowa’s hospitality and tourism industries.  

Based on our initial research and feedback from 5 virtual employer focus groups held in April, we have created 6 new general job families that are common within Iowa’s growing and innovative hospitality and tourism fields. We now need your help to review these updates and provide some final anonymous feedback on job duties, wages, education and other aspects necessary to be successful within these careers in Iowa.

This final project survey will remain open until Friday, June 3rd. If unable to complete the survey in a single session, simply start a new one and skip ahead to the section where you had left off. Please share this survey with colleagues, industry associations, and others with industry knowledge. The more responses we receive, the better the final product will be in helping to engage and inform students and job seekers about these great career opportunities.
