COVE is excited to present our newest offering for students and families: the 2020-2021 COVE College Access Workshop Series!
In this 5-part series students and their families will learn the basics as well as some insider tips for success from the beginning of your college search to what to do when you actually get to campus. We believe college access is not just about applying for a school, but also about understanding how to prepare to navigate college financially, academically, and socially.
We will explore topics including the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), understanding your admissions offer and financial aid award, and diverse paths to college success including breaking down what the transfer admissions process is, the benefits for students, and steps to prepare to transfer successfully.
For further information about the each of the 2020-2021 COVE College Access workshops, please visit our page at:
https://www.coveducators.org/programs/college-access-workshopsThese workshops were designed and will be delivered by two financial aid professionals who combined have attended and/or worked at CUNY, the University of Virginia, Amherst College, Harvard University, and Columbia University. We have been affiliated both as students and as volunteers with a number of college access organizations including QuestBridge and 1vyG with a specific focus on the experiences of First Generation/Low Income (FGLI) students and other marginalized groups, and we are excited to share information that will be especially valuable to these groups as well.
If you are interested in any of our workshops please sign up for our COVE College Access mailing list for registration updates and additional resources that will help you in your college journey - it's never too early to learn and prepare!
