Surnames in Gozo: An Overview

Ruben Farrugia, is an educator and researcher who has dedicated his academicendeavors to the field of Maltese Linguistics. His primary focus has been onthe study of phonetics, acoustic phonetics, and phonology of Gozitan dialects. Heholds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Maltese and a Master's degree in Acoustic Phonetics, specializing in two distinct Gozitan dialects from the University of Malta.

Ruben supervised several Bachelor's level dissertations on the phonetics and phonology of various dialects, whileteaching Phonetics and Phonology at the University of Malta. He alsocollaborated with the University of Malta and the University of Heidelberg on research projects that led to the publication of papers providing insights into Gozitan dialects.
