Code Red @UIC Board Application
Code Red's mission is to educate, advocate, and provide menstrual products so that we can dismantle stigma surrounding periods and alleviate period poverty. We are looking for a dedicated and hard-working group of board members to helps us achieve our goals. Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Sunday, November 14th.

Overview of Board Roles
Treasurer (x1): The Treasurer is responsible for handling all money raised from fundraising events,  depositing it into Code Red's bank account, making sure we do not go into debt, and presenting a monthly budget report. Other duties may be given throughout the year as Code Red progresses.

Communications Director (x1): The Communications Director is responsible for sending out all emails, and posting on social media to advertise our events and projects. They will also be in charge of creating all event flyers and graphics. Experience with visual/graphic design (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, Piktochart, etc.) is encouraged.

Education Directors (x2): The Education Directors are responsible for creating workshops to educate about menstrual, sexual, and physical health in order to reduce stigma and promote understanding. One Education Director will primarily focus on on-campus events (GBMs,  how-tos, guest speakers, etc.). The other Education Director will organize off-campus events, such as workshops with women's shelters and domestic violence shelters in the Chicago area.

Fundraising Director (x1): The Fundraising Director is responsible for organizing various period product drives and fundraising initiatives to help distribute menstrual products not only across campus, but across the Chicagoland area. They are also responsible for keeping track of the amount of money raised and see to it that the treasurer receives the funds raised within one week of the event.

Advocacy Director (x1): The Advocacy Director is responsible for creating initiatives that push for various menstrual equity policies. For example, pushing Illinois public schools to require menstrual health education. They will also be responsible for working with USG to maintain the free menstrual product dispensers in campus bathrooms.  


All chairs will also lead a team of interested Code Red members on future projects!
