Get Involved! -  Oregon Interpreters in Action
We fought for a Covid Relief bonus for interpreters, and with the funds the State allotted, 363 HCIs received the $1200 bonus! Yet that wasn’t enough to reach all credentialed interpreters who suffered financial hardship during the pandemic. These bonuses only provide temporary economic relief to Health Care Interpreters. Our fight is not over yet! Our goal as a union is to get fair pay for all healthcare appointments.

This November we are going back to contract negotiations with the State of Oregon over the $2 Million we advocated for and won during the legislative session. We need to continue fighting for economic relief and for a state scheduling/billing system for OHP, Medicare, and Medicaid appointments. HCI deserve transparency and a say over working conditions and pay!
