Type of Presentation
Tell us whether your presentation should be scheduled in the contributed talk schedule (typically these are delivered by faculty members, folks from industry, or graduate students), a special session, or the undergraduate student talk schedule.

For Fall 2019: A Special Session on Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education (RUME), organized by Aaron Weinberg (Ithaca College) and Sarah Hanusch (SUNY Oswego) and sponsored by SIGMAA-RUME.

We invite speakers to submit abstracts to a special session on Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education.  Examples include rigorous and scientific studies about students’ mathematical cognition and reasoning, studies of teaching practice in inquiry-oriented mathematics classrooms, and design of research-based curricular materials. Presentations should build on the existing literature in mathematics education and use established or innovative methodologies as they pertain to the study of undergraduate mathematics education. Any contributions submited to this session that are not accepted will be automatically submitted to the contributed sessions.

Presentation Title and Abstract
When submitting your title and abstract, you may use basic latex code.  Do not define macros or personalized fonts, formatting, etc.  If you absolutely require packages besides the ams packages (amsmath, amssymb, amsthm) or hyperref, please tell us in the Additional Comments section; please note that an abstract should not be highly formatted or require highly specialized symbols -- for instance, it is not typical for abstracts to have figures, tables, or references sections.  If you must include a reference in your abstract, provide the full citation in a sentence.  The MAA provides sound guidance on writing abstracts (see https://www.maa.org/sites/default/files/pdf/students/Writing%20Abstracts.pdf to get started!).

If there are any scheduling conflicts of which we should be aware when making the schedules, please tell us about them in the Additional Comments section.
