2024 WAYJO Live Audition Form
The West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO) is open to performers 14-25 years of age. Performing a range of jazz styles, WAYJO annually commission original big band works, train band leaders, and run pathways educational programs.

Positions in each of the three big bands are auditioned each year, offering the opportunity to perform at some of Perth’s best venues, work with top band leaders and touring guest artists, plus travel regionally, nationally and internationally.

Key Dates & Details
ELIGIBILITY: Jazz big band instrumentalists and vocalists aged 14-25 years in 2024 are encouraged to apply.  

REGISTRATIONS: Open 9.00am, Tuesday 26 September - and close 5.00pm, Friday 17 November 2023.

DATES: Auditions are 15 minutes in duration and can be selected on a first come first served basis. This year we will be auditioning for a section a day;

Saturday 2 December, 2023 | Saxophones
Sunday 3 December, 2023 | Trumpets & Trombones
Saturday 9 December, 2023 | Drum Kit
Sunday 10 December, 2023 | Guitar, Double Bass, Piano, Vocals

If you are unable to audition on your section's allocated day, you will need to submit a video audition instead. Video audition information can be found at wayjo.com/audition

Please ensure you can arrive at least 15 minute prior your selected time. A warm-up space will be provided.
Choose carefully as audition dates/times may not be transferable, and the audition fee is non-refundable.

Audition Fee: $35 + booking fee (inclusive of GST)
