I pledge to keep doing, or start doing, the following activities on my property:

Chemical Use

Reduce my pesticide use and avoid "Red Zone" chemicals to stay safe (see www.growsmartgrowsafe.com)

Use natural and organic fertilizers in my yard to protect our stormwater from these pollutants

Invasive Plants

Remove any invasive species on my property to protect our natural reas from their harmful effects

Native Plants

Increase the number of native plants on my property to provide healthy habitat for my wildlife neighbors and reduce my need fro water and chemicals

Welcoming Wildlife

Keep my cats indoors or install a catio to protect them and the birds from danger

Install & maintain a wildlife water feature, like a bird/bug bath or fountain, to provide clean water

Install & maintain bird, bat, or bee nest boxes for native species

Install a snag or nurse log to provide dead wood for insects and wildife to shelter

Install a native pollinator meadow using native plants that bloom throughout the season

Stormwater

Clean up my dog's waste at least once/week

Disconnect downspouts or install a raingarden to manage stormwater on-site (where appropriate)

Remove paved surfaces and/or lawn and replace it with plants to soak up rain

Build healthy soil by leaving the leaves, composting, mulching

Practice water conservation by eliminating lawn irrigation and watering anything else in morning or evening only

Check for and fix car leaks (fixthoseleaks.org)
