One of the most important and unique aspects of your membership in CPG is that you are entitled to participate directly in shaping and fulfilling CPG's work supporting and developing cooperative professionals.

Many thanks to those of you already actively participating in a CPG circle - we hope you'll continue and invite others to join you!

If you haven't yet joined a circle, here's how you can participate: CPG is run by its volunteer members and we encourage all members to participate in the work of the organization according to their interests. CPG is organized in a sociocratic structure of linked circles. The operational circles function something like committees in a conventional organization, each having their own domain of work, authority and responsibility, but roles are assigned democratically and decisions are made by consensus. Members participate in CPG by joining one of our operational circles. Members may also propose new circles to carry out additional activities.

Each circle decideson its own meeting frequency but typically circles meet 1-3 times per month. Two representatives from each operating circle are selected to constitute the General Circle that coordinates and supports the work of the operational circles. The General Circle meets 1-2 times per month. Members who can't participate on a regular basis as a standing circle member may volunteer from time to time to participate in specific circle projects or in ad hoc circles.

(Note: In addition to the operational circles that members can join electively, CPG has a member-elected Stewardship Circle that serves as its board of directors; all members will again be invited to nominate themselves for election at the next annual meeting in late 2024).
