The Spring session of the Rockport Elementary School Run Club will begin on Monday, March 25th, 2024. The Run Club is scheduled for seven weeks, concluding with the Motif #1 day 5K and 1 Mile on May 18th. Our run club is a free, before-school exercise program aimed at highlighting the significant benefits of physical activity for a child's overall well-being. Our primary objectives include fostering lifetime fitness habits, building a sense of community, nurturing positive self-esteem, and kickstarting your child's day with active play to invigorate their mind and body.
The run club is open to students in grades K- 5. Monday/ Wednesday sessions will focus on grades K and 1. Tuesday/Friday will focus on grades 2-5. Students in grades 4 and 5 have the flexibility to attend any of the sessions. We will meet at 8 AM in the gym before heading out to the track and fields behind the school. Please remember to dress appropriately for outdoor running and wear sneakers. In the event of rain, the run club will be canceled, and I will notify you via email. We are always seeking parent volunteers to enhance the run club experience. If you are interested in participating or have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, Erin Canniff, at ecanniff@rpk12.org.
Thank you for your support and enthusiasm. We look forward to a fun and active seven weeks with your children.
