【「生理の貧困」とは？】
” Period Poverty(生理の貧困)”とは、生理用品の購入や利用ができない状況を指します。また、生理用品へのアクセスの欠如だけでなく、生理に関する正しい知識や理解が教育を通じて知られていない状況も含まれています。背景には、長い間生理が世界的にタブー視されていたことがあり、その結果学校やスポーツなど重要な活動の機会損失に繋がっています。（Red Box Japan ホームページより）
【ゲストスピーカー: Founder of Red Box Japan 尾熊栞奈様】
Red Box Japanは2019年12月に設立され、日本国内で活動しています。”Red Box”とは、赤い箱に生理用品を詰めて学校に寄付し、生理中の若者を支援することを目的とする2017年にイギリスで始まった社会活動です。今回は設立者である尾熊様に活動の経緯や取り組みを伺います。

【What’s ”period poverty”?】
"Period Poverty" means the inability to purchase or use sanitary products. Not only is there a lack of access to sanitary products, but there are also situations the correct knowledge and understanding of menstruation is not known through education. In the background, menstruation has been regarded as a taboo worldwide, resulting in the loss of opportunities for important activities such as school and sports.

Red Box Japan was established December in 2019, and is now active in Japan. A social activity (Red Box Project) started in the United Kingdom in 2017 with the aim of supporting young people during menstruation by packing sanitary products in a red box and donating it to the school. This time, we would like to ask the founder, Ms. Oguma, about the background and efforts of the activities.

This year, HeForShe Nagoya University have decided collaborate and work on to raise awareness about "Perception of menstrual periods and Period poverty”. We hope this webinar will encourage discussion and work towards creating an environment that allows for easier access to sanitary products and information about menstruation!
