2021 BBQ Contest
BBQ CONTEST Saturday, October 23rd, 2021

To enter the contest, complete this entry form.  

1. Entry Fee $50 with the following pay outs.  
Judged Ribs: 1st: $200 2nd: $100 3rd: $50
People’s Choice Beans: $50

2. Each team must provide own cooking device and all equipment necessary for cooking. Teams must provide their own generators for electric cookers. We cannot guarantee electrical availability.

3. Meat and Beans will be provided.  Only meat and beans provided by event sponsor may be used.

4. Check in time is 8am-9am.  All contestants must be pre-registered.

5. Absolutely no garnish will be allowed.  Any garnish will lead to disqualification.

6. Meat Categories and Turn in Times:
Judged St. Louis Style Ribs: 3:30
People’s Choice Beans: 4:00
Please have cookers removed by 6pm.

7. Only wood burning cookers will be allowed.  No gas.  No electricity will be provided. Teams must provide their own generators for any electricity needs.

8. Sauce is optional.  If used it shall be applied directly to the meat while cooking and not pooled or puddle in the container.  Sauce violation shall result in disqualification.

9. Entries will be submitted in a numbered container that will be supplied.  Each contestant must submit prepared racks provided.  Meat shall not be sculptured, branded or in rosettes.  Aluminum foil, toothpicks, skewers or other identifying garnish is not allowed in entry.  

10. The following cleanliness and safety rules will be applied: a. No use of tobacco products while handling meat. b. Cleanliness of the cook, assistants, cooking device and cooking space is required. c. Shirt and shoes are required to be worn in cooking area. d. Must maintain a sanitized work area. e. Prior to cooking; meat must be maintained at 40 degrees or less.  Packed in ice.  After cooking meat must be held at 140 degrees or above. f. You are welcome to cook additional food and hand out samples; however you are not allowed to accept any kind of payment for them.
