SEEDS Committee Sign-Ups
This form is for SEEDS Members interested in volunteering to serve on one of the seven SEEDS standing committees. This is a great way to get more involved with SEEDS. Members of the committees support the Chair and Co-Chair of a committee, partake in monthly meetings and other committee events, and may step into the co-chair position following a term of service. Committee members are asked to commit to serving three terms of service, terms of service being the period from one conference to the other. Descriptions of each committee are provided. This committee will be responsible for recruitment and retention of members and maintain ongoing communication and membership lists, post-conference evaluations, help organize reading roundtables, webinars, twitter chats, and other ongoing learning events to keep the membership active and engaged, among other tasks.

This committee will identify and maintain the association’s budget and keep track of overall expenses. The committee shall collect membership and conference fees, maintain the organization’s budget, maintain non-profit status and taxes, and prepare budget reports to be posted online, among other tasks.

This committee is responsible for developing the conference call for proposals, the proposal review process, and the co-development of the conference program with the conference logistics committee, among other tasks.

This committee is responsible for planning an in-person or virtual conference, including finding technological solutions to presenting; seeking affordable hotel accommodation; organizing food/refreshments throughout the conference; transportation information; other logistics issues; and support the co-development of a conference program, among other tasks.

This committee will maintain the organization’s social media presence; update the association’s website as needed; maintain the association’s presence in social media presence (e.g. Facebook, twitter); help to promote the mission and objectives of SEEDS; be engaged with members to disseminate news, events, research, and publications aligned with the SEEDS mission, among other tasks.

This committee will maintain a pulse on current events and prepare statements of solidarity on behalf of SEEDS, in order to support an individual or individuals or relevant organizations, as well as initiative to instigate social action and facilitate the of drafting statements of solidarity or plan actions, among other tasks.

This committee shall be in charge of developing, revising, and updating the association by-laws as needed; support with identifying and pursuing alternative sources of funding for the association; provide ethical guidance in accordance with the mission and values of SEEDS regarding potential funding partners; help to organize and update the Association’s documents and assets across virtual and physical space, among other tasks.
