SE CASC Research Affiliate Information
This form collects information for a database of professionals whose work and expertise align with activities of the Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (SE CASC or Southeast CASC) to deliver science to help fish, wildlife, water, land, and people adapt to a changing climate. SE CASC supports integration of science information into conservation delivery, by working with, and building the capacity of, resource managers to interpret and integrate the latest science into their management and decision-making processes.

Benefits and Opportunities for Research Affiliates
Research Affiliates have a direct line of access to join interdisciplinary collaborations across Consortium institutions and USGS. They will be listed on the SE CASC website under their thematic area(s) and region(s) of interest.

Affiliates will be added to a closed google group where events and opportunities will be shared, including annual open houses, science seminars, funding opportunities, and more.

Only Research Affiliates at Consortium institutions may recommend and mentor a graduate student as part of the Global Change Research Fellows program. Likewise, only Research Affiliates may apply for other funding opportunities open to Consortium institutions as part of the cooperative agreement with USGS.

Expectations of Research Affiliates
All SE CASC Research Affiliates are expected to demonstrate their expertise in some aspect of the science implemented by the Southeast CASC, which provides information about future conditions, assessments of potential impacts, and data and tools that can be used to inform and facilitate adaptation by our partners.

Research Affiliates are expected to periodically contribute to the review of award applications, including for the Global Change Research Fellows program.

Affiliates should be willing to serve as interdisciplinary mentors for Global Change Research Fellows and to contribute to research skills-building activities of Fellows. The Program is designed to train the next generation of global change scientists by providing financial, scientific, and professional development support for graduate students who are interested in multi-disciplinary research approaches.

Service Term
Affiliates will need to renew their membership annually, regardless of sign-up date. The affiliate call is every January and information submitted by January 31st receives priority consideration.
