Dear Parents,

As Turkish Americans will be celebrating the 102nd Anniversary of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on April 23, 2022, with a National Sovereignty and Children Day, TACAM is preparing a unique event for our Turkish American children. TACAM is organizing a field trip to Lansing Michigan to visit the State Capitol Building, and will have the opportunity to meet with an elected official on Friday, April 22 2022.

For those coming from southeastern Michigan, we expect to meet at TACAM Cultural Center (28847 Beck Road, Wixom MI 48393) on the morning of the trip around 10:00 am, start our trip at 10:30 am with an estimated arrival time of 12:00 pm. In the afternoon, we will drive and walk around the Lansing area, meet with an elected official, then have a guided building tour of our State Capitol Building, and we cap our trip with a visit to Social Sloth Cafe for delicious food and drinks. We plan on leaving Lansing around 5:00 pm with expected arrival to TACAM Cultural Center around 6:30 pm.

We limit the participation to 15 children ages 9-15. Carpooling might be possible, especially for those traveling from southeastern Michigan.
