Solidarity Basket Program:
A big part of my mission is to produce fresh and healthy produce that is accessible to as many people as possible. This is why I decided to offer the Solidarity Basket Program. The idea comes from La ferme coopérative aux champs qui chantent, a farm I worked at for 3 years in Québec. We know that cost can be a major barrier to some, and so we have set up a system to help us provide some baskets at a reduced price, while still allowing the producers to work towards earning a just salary. We call them solidarity baskets, because those who have the ability to donate do so out of solidarity with those who do not.
Here’s how it works:
Receiving a solidarity basket: Anyone can receive a membership at reduced price, I don’t need to see any proof - I trust you! Simply check the box “I would like to receive a subsidized basket” below. That’s all! No proof of income will be requested and your participation in the program will remain confidential. Don’t worry about the prices on the form or the payment schedule – once I receive your form, I will get in touch with you and find a price and a payment timeline that works for you. Of course, it always depends on how many donations I will receive. Since it’s my first year doing it here, I’m not sure what to expect yet, but the Program worked really well at La ferme coopérative aux champs qui chantent and we were usually able to give a 50% discount.
Donating to a solidarity basket: I receive donations for the solidarity baskets from partners and non-partners alike. Anyone who wants to help make good healthy food more accessible, and has the means to do so, is encouraged to support the program. You can donate to the program by selecting the box “I want to donate to a Solidarity Basket” below. Depending on your capability, you can decide to donate 1, 2 or 3 solidarity baskets (value of $24 each, delivery fee included). Although, I accept any donation so if you want to donate a different amount please mention it in the comment section. All donations will directly be used to subsidize baskets.
