In class, you will experience parents or guardians who like to express themselves rather in English, than in Dutch. Being a teacher, you would like to speak their native language by changing the parent conversations from Dutch to English. At the end, you both have a common goal: the wellbeing of the child. Therefore, it is important to be able to express yourself freely, so there will not be any miscommunication when you deliver your message.

During this training, you will learn on the basis of the usual subjects, such as CITO, skills, behaviour and work attitude how to have a conversation with the parents or guardians, radiating knowledge and trust. Also, there will also be harder subjects, such as bullying and re-do a year.

During this training, you will develop your speaking skills to speak more ‘native-like’ (less Dutch-English). You will also expand your vocabulary and you will develop functional expressions for more variety in your use of words.

During times of education on distance, you can't get around it: working digitally with children. We had to adapt ourselves, but what did we learn? Did you discover the benefits? Even when thestudetns are back in the classroom, you can still continue the work digitally.

During this workshop, you will work with practical examples to utilise different Google Classroom and Google Forms tools, to make your education as paperless as possible. We will also focus on communication with students, collaboration and active learning. Stimulate your students to work together online and let Google be an addition to your education. You will learn:

This course offers you the opportunity to improve your English. In addition, if you achieve the required level, you can take an exam to obtain an internationally recognized Cambridge English certificate. The course is taught by the British Language Training Center (www.bltc.nl for more information) and takes place at the Amsterdam International Community School.

The Cambridge English course is offered to employees at three levels:
1. Cambridge English First (B2)
2. Cambridge English Advanced (C1)
3. Cambridge English Proficiency (C2)

Prior to the course, all participants will take an intake test, so that everyone can be assigned to the correct level. Due to current circumstances, the training may be conducted online. In that case, the courses will continue with Zoom. During the intake process it is possible to practice with Zoom.

This course aims to improve all skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. For each lesson of 2 hours, 2 hours of homework is done. Upon completion of the course and provided your attendance record is at least 70%, you will receive a BLTC certificate.

The FCE / CAE / CPE courses are taught in two blocks, consisting of 12 lessons of 2 hours. The costs of one block are €240,- (incl. Books, excl. Cambridge exam) with a minimum of 8 participants. The exam fee is €240,- FCE,

The learning network is an exploration for teachers with 3 to 5 years of experience in education. The target group knows the school well but is not yet totally proficient. This group of teachers is going on tour to discover unexplored areas. The learning network starts with a strategic issue, formulated by the board and three school principals. People with different expertise will be invited to join these meetings so we can learn from different perspectives. The issue can be a metropolitan problem or another relevant or complicated issue, such as the inequality of opportunities or the shortage of teachers. On the basis of a creative dialogue there will be extensive conversations with all parties. Participants will think of solutions and the way to actually implement the solutions at school.

You will also be able to automatically sort and merge files within Excel.

Career coaching is a short individual course of one and/or two coaching sessions that will make you aware of your own career development and/or will inspire you to take a new step. This step does not necessarily have to be aimed at moving on to another job or another school, but can also be about exploiting development opportunities within your current job or school. The career coaching will be provided by MoMatch.

In advance, in order to determine your development and career goals, an intake interview will be held with the career counselor. Depending on need, a module could be recommended. The module could consist of:

1. Self-analysis: During this process, the competency of skills is mapped out using a competency scan. Hidden or invisible competences are also made visible. You get insight into the questions: who am I? What can I do? What do I want in my work? During a coaching interview the outcomes of the scan are discussed and insights are formed.

2. Talent scan: During this process, extensive attention is paid to your profile of talents through a talent scan. This profile is discussed with you in a coaching interview.

3. Module career APK: This process is intended for employees who want more insight into the question 'Do I still enjoy my work?'. The themes that are discussed are: 'How do I get enough energy from my work/career?' and 'What do I need to take lasting pleasure from my work?' These themes are explored in two coaching sessions with you.

4. Labour market analysis and mediation: This trajectory consists of two coachings conversations with attention to a CV, effective job applications and effective use of LinkedIn and social media.

The module costs € 550,- per person. For this module you need to ask your supervisor for approval.
