23-24 Water Pen Pals Registration 
Hello Fellow Educators!

The NC Division of Water Resources invites you to join our 2022-2023 cohort of Water Writer Pen Pals!

Are you interested in having your students partner with another classroom to exchange letters with their very own pen-pals? Want them to share and learn about water resources? If so, please complete the following form below. 

We believe the most effective learning is done through fun, engaging interactions and activities- so this program is designed to be a slightly different approach to learning about our own and other region's water resources. Feel free to share this with other educators, as well.

Lauren Daniel, Water Education Program Coordinator for NC Division of Water Resources (Lauren.Daniel@deq.nc.gov), will be the point of contact for this program. Optional letter templates will be provided for teachers to use for the program.  

We will pair registered classes based on:
-Number of students in the class
-Grade
-Geographic Location (we will pair classes from different ecological regions/river basins)

Since this is now a rolling application period, classes will be paired at the end of each month based on interest.

Remember, this is for ONE class/section. Please do not lump several sections into one registration- it's very difficult to pair entire grade levels.
