Launch Summer 2021: First proposal draft

Use this document to develop your Launch First Draft and budget notes.  Your proposal should focus more on depth and connection than on the exploration of new experiences or the discovery of new ideas.  We will support only those projects that reflect careful thinking, meticulous planning, and high-quality outcomes.

As more positions are becoming virtual, we're trying to find out where Scholars want to be located during the summer. We believe Duke Scholars will not be required to live on campus (that has not been confirmed), so we are hoping some Scholars will be in Durham and Chapel Hill so we can do some in-person programming.  We need to start looking for group housing options, based on your interests.  What are your thoughts about this?  Are you interested in staying local?  Do you have housing resources, or will you need the program to work on that?  
What role has your Launch Summer Coach played in your Summer preparation so far?  Do not organize your project without your Coach's involvement. *

What will you have to show for your Launch Summer? There are many possibilities (e.g., a research paper, an original piece of creative writing, an evaluation report, a thesis chapter, a formal business plan).  You will provide the RSLP with a copy of this “product”, in whatever form is most appropriate or relevant. Your deliverables may change as your project evolves over the summer, but we will ask you to account for the deliverables that you declare. *
