Did you know that the Arkansas Legislature has made a few changes that will impact the 2022-2023 school calendar? The school year cannot start earlier than Monday, August 22, 2022, and districts must meet a minimum minute requirement for the year instead of just a “day” count. Therefore, Searcy Public Schools is looking at 2 possible options for the 2022-2023 School Year.

Which calendar option is your preference? *

Option 1: 165 student days. This option includes a week for Thanksgiving, a slightly longer Winter Break, and three built in 4-day weekends for students throughout the year. This option requires adding approximately 30 minutes to the 7th-12th Daily Schedule. The schedule does not need to be changed for K-6 students.

Option 2: 178 student days. This option includes 3 days for Thanksgiving, a traditional Winter Break, and only 3 additional holidays for students. This option requires no change to the daily schedule.
