Tween Creative Writing Workshop

The Columbus Public Library invites young writers (grades 4-8) to a four-part Tween Creative Writing Workshop on April 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 3:30 to 4:45 pm. The workshop will be guided by award-winning local author and writing educator Valerie Biel. This free workshop is a great opportunity for young writers to hone their skills and receive inspiration, encouragement, and feedback from both their peers and a published author.

There will be an opportunity for writers who participated in the 2023 Spring Writing Workshop and NaNoWriMo to review topics and add in more advanced writing craft tools.

A journal notebook and a pen will be provided by the library for participants to keep, but they may also bring their own journal/notepad, pen or a laptop for notes and writing exercises. Workshop packets will be handed out at each session. Extra packets will be available at the library if anyone has to miss a session. All four of the workshops will take place in the Columbus Library Annex, 251 W. James Street in Columbus. Pre-registration is preferred, but not necessary for this FREE workshop, but participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions if possible.
