QUALIFICATIONS
Free clothing, toys, and infant equipment are available to foster, fictive kin and relative care children (with $0 up to base per-diem or comparable SSI or Child Support benefits for each child) in qualifying DFCS and private agency foster homes, relative care homes, grandparents raising grandchildren (without the biological parent involvement or/and in the same home), teens aging out of foster care once on their own for a limited time.
Foster Care Support serves all counties in Georgia either by appointment, pick up or mail order. Relatives caring for the children without biological parents involvement DO NOT need a DFCS case to qualify.
For children in DFCS or private agency foster homes: If termination of parental rights (TPR) has occurred on both biological parents and the child is in their pre-adoptive placement, the child no longer qualifies for Foster Care Support's services from the day TPR occurs regardless of whether adoption papers have been signed or finalization has occurred. We congratulate you on your pending adoption but relinquish our responsibility to the adopting parents for support of the child at that time.
If the child is being adopted by a grandparent or relative the child may continue to receive services from Foster Care Support Foundation depending on verification of eligibility and support.*
Mail orders are for qualifying displaced children who live more than an hour drive away from the distribution center. Due to shipping costs, we are unable to ship infant equipment & large toys. Mail orders include a full seasonal wardrobe, stuffed animals, books, and 1 to 3 toys.
Prom dress: Although our volunteer numbers did not allow us to hold the 18th annual Prom-A-Palooza this year, we will have an assortment of prom dress in each size for Junior and Senior High School girls that would like to attend their high school prom this year. Please put the size, preferred color and style that you may be wanting, in the toy section of the application so we can try to make sure there are multiple selections. We can't promise to have your dream dress but will do our best. This option will only be available from March through the middle of May. - We encourage you to choose an appointment, if possible, in order to also receive bikes or other large toys, a large bag of toys, infant care equipment per developmental age etc, that cannot be mailed.
- If a designated person from your county would like to pick up multiple families’ orders, we can include infant equipment and a full bag of toys including bikes and other large items with each order, depending on availability.

SHIPPING Our cost to ship your items to your home are free to you; however, we pay $25 to $30 per child to ship your free items to your home. If you would like to donate part or all of this expense to Foster Care Support from your foster care clothing allowance, please call us for convenient donation payment over the phone or you can also make an online donation to offset our cost
. We can provide a receipt for those needing proof for payment for foster care clothing allowance reimbursement if you choose to submit the shipping cost as your DFCS clothing expense.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Please do not resubmit your same order twice because it will slow the process to serve you. When we get to your request, we will call you to confirm sizes, pick up/mail out choice, etc. Thank you for your patience as we work through the applications received.
