Global Friends in cooperation with Cultural Homestay International welcomes you on Internship/Trainee program.
The J-1 Internship/Trainee program in the United States is designed to allow University students, recent graduates, or young professionals to come to the United States to participate in a structured and guided work-based learning program to foster professional development in the intern’s or trainee’s specific academic or occupational field. Upon completion of the program, J-1 intern or Trainee MUST return back to home country to share the obtained experience with the countrymen
The regulations governing the program state that intern or trainee must be a foreign national who:
- Possess advanced English; and
- Be a last year university student or has a degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution (for internship program); or
- University degree and at least one year of prior related work experience in his or her occupational field outside the United States (for Trainees); or
- If you don’t have a degree, you may still be eligible if you have 5 years of work experience outside the United States in the occupational field where you seek your internship.

What happens after you complete the application.
STEP 1: Global Friends will transfer the Data into Cultural Homestay International Online Database -
itp2.chinet.org STEP 2: Your individual Login and Password is assigned to access the database
STEP 3: You will be provided with comprehensive instructions to complete the online profile.
STEP 4: Application accepted and interview is scheduled with CHI representative - Alexey Silin (email:
chialexey@chinet.org)
STEP 5: Your application is finalized to move forward; y
STEP 6: You will be invoiced with Registration deposit of $500 (fully refundable if Sponsor can't find you placement for CHI-arranged positions)
STEP 7. You are assigned with CHI coordinator
STEP 8. Process of matching with position happens (takes 6-16 weeks on average).
STEP 9: Program Payment, Document Issuance, delivery (electronically or via FEDEX to participants' place of living)
STEP 10: Preparation for the embassy by CHI and Global Friends
STEP 11: Pre-arrival orientation and Departure.
STEP 12: Post-arrival Orientation with CHI coordinator, settling and start of internship
