Tech Theatre Stagecraft Application

In STAGECRAFT II, students will continue to develop the skills necessary to be successful technicians, artists, and designers in the performing arts. Students will actively participate in the production of theatrical productions and other events in the Theatre Department and other productions. This class can be taken along with the general Technical Theatre class.

In STAGECRAFT III, students will continue to develop the skills necessary to be successful technicians, artists, and designers in the performing arts.  Students will take on greater responsibilities within the program. Students will actively participate in the production of theatrical productions and other events in the Theatre Department and other productions. This class can be taken along with the general Technical Theatre class.

In STAGECRAFT IV, students will continue to develop the skills necessary to be successful technicians, artists, and designers in the performing arts.  Students will take on artistic leadership roles under the supervision of the instructor.. Students will actively participate in the production of theatrical productions and other events in the Theatre Department and other productions. This class can be taken along with the general Technical Theatre class.

Students interested in joining Stagecraft II, III or IV must meet the following criteria and complete this application no later than 4:15 pm on Friday, March 8th, 2024.

Students will study and begin to apply the skills necessary to be successful artists and technicians for the theatre. Instruction and demonstration will lead directly into group discussion and projects. This class can be taken along with the Stagecraft class.

APPLICATION  INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Please upload a current headshot and resume. (Note: headshot does not have to be professional quality.)
  • Please submit a portfolio of your previous work. (Note: work does not need to be limited to full-scale productions – students may share work from class assignments and personal projects.)

  • Please write a two-page, double-spaced essay discussing what skills you bring with you, how you will be an effective and useful part of the program in regards to building and producing live theatre (regardless of long term educational/career goals), which parts of making productions successful you want to learn to do, and whether you are willing to do any jobs that need to be done (regardless of your niche).

  • Have two current teachers complete the Recommender Form with your application. (Recommenders must be teachers you are currently enrolled with in school.)
