WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
A workshop addressing communication and pragmatic language skills in young children particularly those with special needs following the changes in CDC milestones and long-term effects of social isolation during COVID from the perspective of speech and language therapy and general classroom teaching.
Presented by:
Amelia Hennig M.S. Ed and Erica Doak M.S. CCC-SLP. Amelia Hennig is an early childhood and special educator who has worked at Chelmsford Integrated Preschool for 9 years. She specializes in working with children on the autism spectrum and children with severe behavioral challenges. Erica Doak is a certified Speech Language Pathologist with 10 years of experience working with children 0-5 years old. She has worked at Chelmsford Integrated Preschool for 6 years with previous experience in early intervention and private practice. Currently, Erica specializes in working with children on the autism spectrum, particularly those children with high medical, physical, cognitive, and communication needs. Amelia and Erica both believe in a child-led, play-based approach when working with preschool children to help foster their adaptive, social emotional, communication, cognitive, and motor development
