Communication with Church Staff
The Youth Program assumes more independence and responsibility for the children participating. Students serve in worship, go on field trips, and go on photo scavenger hunts. On field trips, it may be important for the spiritual formation director and director or student ministries to have the child's phone number, or be able to contact the child directly. When arranging worship, confirmation plans, or other youth activities, the youth director may also need to contact the child directly.
Guardians must give specific permissions for the child to communicate with the youth director by text or through social media. Guardians understand:
* The Director of Student Ministries and Associate Pastor will communicate in a professional manner with students about youth programming, worship, or other church related activities.
* The Director of Student Ministries and Associate Pastor will never intentionally delete any text messages with students, and they will always be available should the guardian request to see them.
* The Director of Student Ministries and Associate Pastor will never communicate with the students on social media that does not leave a public record, such as Snapchat or other private messaging services.
By providing this information, the guardian of the student gives permission for the Director of Student Ministries and Associate Pastor to interact with students on these platforms. If there are multiple children enrolled using this form, the answers to these questions apply only to those students in 7th grade or higher.
