The Beckley Art Center is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to stimulate interest and awareness of the Arts and encourage artistic development through Arts education and opportunities within the group and the community.
BAC Basics is a
new program, sponsored by Carter Family Foundation, offering art classes for all ages. As a result of receiving funding for this program, we are now able to offer 5 scholarship opportunities for each BAC Basics class. It is our mission that these scholarships will be given to those who need them most. Upon applying for a scholarship, please answer the below questions with integrity and honesty, ensuring that the gift of art is given to those in need who want to learn more.
If you are looking for a discount on a class, all BAC members get a 20% discount on all BAC Basics classes.
Guidelines
Only 5 scholarship opportunities will be available per each BAC Basics class. Please put in your application up to 2 weeks before the class begins. (This will be waived for the month of September.) You may apply for a scholarship for only one class per month. Example: You may apply for a drawing class in September, and a painting class in October, but not for drawing and painting class in the same month. If you are applying for siblings, family members or friends, please be sure to list that below and it will be taken into consideration. All scholarships will be reviewed and processed by our Education Committee. If you are a parent applying on behalf of your child(ren), please list their names as the applicant & your name in the contact info portion.
Acceptance Notices
Acceptance notices will be sent 2 weeks before the chosen class begins. Upon receiving acceptance notice, please respond with confirmation that you will be attending class. If anything changes and you are unable to attend, please let us know ASAP so we can re-direct the scholarship to another applicant.
