Hakafa Rosh Chodesh RSVP Form
Inspired by the Jewish ritual of Rosh Chodesh (literally "head of the month"), a celebration marking the start of a new lunar month, this gathering offers a space for us to come together each new moon. Become grounded in the spiritual energy of the month, gain insight into how the themes of the month are shaping your life, and enjoy the intimacy of a candlelit space where you will be seen and heard with compassion. Together, we will reflect and connect with others, and enjoy a guided meditation and/or sound bath experience.  While this gathering is focused on those 18 years old and beyond who identify as women or nonbinary, people of all gender expressions are welcome to come learn and help elevate these voices.

Join us to celebrate the Hebrew lunar month of SIVAN at the Woman's Club of Wilmette (930 Greenleaf
WILMETTE,  IL  60091)
on Thursday, May 29th at 7:30PM. Street parking is free on all streets surrounding the club.

This Rosh Chodesh Sivan, as we prepare to enter the summer months and take a pause from our gatherings temporarily, we will engage in the spiritual theme of the Hebrew month: REVELATION

Congregation Hakafa's very own Penny Hirsch wants to share an organization near and dear to her heart, which she has been involved with for years, called Women Initiating New Directions (WIND for short). Women Initiating New Directions (WIND) empowers justice-impacted women by cultivating their inner resilience. Through this foundation, and by offering practical tools and strategies, WIND fosters hope and enables women in reentry to actively design and build thriving futures for themselves. During this program, we will have the chance to hear some of the stories of these women, also called Lived-Experience Leaders, as we all share pieces of wisdom and/or revelation that has occured for us during our lives so far. Come prepared to reflect on your own moments of revelation and the lessons/wisdom you gleaned from them.
