CAA 2022 Call for Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers for the Canadian Archaeological Association (CAA) 54th Annual Meeting “Where Communities Meet” in Edmonton, Alberta from April 27-30, 2022!
This year the conference will be jointly hosted by the Archaeological Society of Alberta and will be a hybrid conference with in-person and virtual options. Our theme is “Where Communities Meet/Un lieu de rencontre”, reflecting the changing practice of archaeology in Canada, the archaeological interest in how groups have interacted in the past, and the deep history of Edmonton. In Cree, Edmonton is known as amiskwacîwâskahikan and is situated on Treaty 6 territory, as well as the Métis homeland, and has been a place where Indigenous communities have gathered since time immemorial.
We are in need of volunteers to help with both the online and in person components of the conference to ensure that sessions and events run smoothly. Volunteers will help with conference set up and take down, with monitoring sessions, with providing tech support for the online and in person components and providing help and information to all conference attendees. Once you have signed up there will be more information to follow regarding volunteer roles and volunteer shifts as conference planning progresses.
Thank you so much for your interest in supporting the conference this year and we look forward to getting to know you better over the next couple months and seeing you either virtually or in person in April!
