DSD Program - Gsuite for Education Permission Slip
The DSD Program will use Gsuite for Education  .

The service provided by Google through  Gsuite for Education  allows users to communicate and collaborate effectively in a digital educational environment. To use Gsuite for Education (i.e. Google classroom) all students participating in the DSD Program will need a Google account.

School Responsibility
The Google account assigned to your student is created by the GIS. No student's personal information will be collected by Google in creating this account. As per school policies, all activities requiring internet access are supervised by a teacher. The school controls to which Google services it gives students access to. Teacher supervision, school filter, and spot checking will be used to ensure that student’s use of digital tools follows school policy.
Student Responsibility
I will use the computer network resources including  Gsuite for Education for the DSD Program related purposes and follow all school guidelines when using Google Classroom. I will report any evidence of cyber-bullying to my DSD Program teacher. I will also follow my parent/guardian guidelines for the use of Google Classroom in and out of my classes at GIS. I understand that violation of the provision stated in this policy may result in revocation of GIS network access and appropriate disciplinary action may be taken.

By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understand the following: Under FERPA and corresponding Oregon law, a student's education records are protected from disclosure to third parties. I understand that my student's education records (examples of student education records in Google are assignments, notes, calendars and projects created by the student) stored in Gsuite for Education may be accessible to someone other than my student and the German International School by virtue of this online environment. My signature below confirms my consent to allow my student's education record to be stored by Google. I understand that by participating in Gsuite for Education, information about my child will be collected and stored electronically. I have read the privacy policies associated with use of Gsuite for Education. I understand that I may ask for my child's account to be removed at any time.  

I understand that supervision of Internet use outside of the DSD Program is my responsibility. I will discuss our family rules and expectations for using internet based tools, including Google Classroom with my child and accept responsibility for supervising my child’s Internet access outside of the DSD Program. I will report any evidence of cyberbullying or other inappropriate use to the school or to the DSD Program teacher.
