Nomination form is due March 1, 2021.
Elections will be held sixty days before the opening of the annual VATFACS Professional Development Institute. Elections will take place during the annual VATFACS Professional Development Institute in the host city.
NOMINEE FOR THE OFFICE OF SECRETARY…
shall have held active membership for three (3) consecutive years in VATFACS, NATFACS, VACTE, and ACTE.
shall be currently employed in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences education in public schools, in private schools, in the State Department of Education or in colleges and universities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
shall be elected to the Board for a three-year term.
shall serve a term from September 1 of the elected year to August 31 of the calendar year in which the term expires.
shall attend all quarterly, annual meetings, and special meetings as outlined in the constitution.
shall maintain paid membership throughout the term of office.
If elected to the position of SECRETARY of VATFACS, I will become thoroughly acquainted with the organization and will work closely with the Board of Directors throughout my term.
The SECRETARY shall:
A. Certify and keep the original, or a copy, of the Bylaws as amended or otherwise altered to date.
B. Keep a book of minutes of all meetings of the Directors, and, if applicable, meetings of committees of Directors and members, recording therein the time and place of holding, whether regular or special, how called, how notice thereof was given, the names of those present or represented at the meeting, and the proceedings thereof.
C. See that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of the Bylaws or as required by law.
D. Be custodian of the records of VATFACS as authorized by law or the provisions of the Bylaws, to duly executed documents of the Corporation.
E. Keep a membership book containing the name and address of each member, and, in the case where any membership has been terminated, he or she shall record such fact in the membership book together with the date on which such membership ceased.
F. Exhibit at all reasonable times to any Director, or to his or her agent or attorney, on request therefore, the Bylaws, the membership book, and the minutes of the proceedings of the Directors of the Corporation.
G. Handle correspondence for the Corporation.
H. Serve as co-consultant along with the VACTE Representative to the Membership Committee.
I. Serve as consultant to the Exhibits Committee.
