BAMT Small Grants Application Form 2022/23
APPLICATION GUIDELINES

BAMT is able to administer small grants to Music Therapy trainees to support them whilst undertaking their training to qualify as a music therapist. The Small Grants scheme is available to all trainees currently training on an HCPC approved Music Therapy training programme for support with the costs of travel, books or learning resources, personal therapy or other related expenses. Receipts will not be required. 

1. Applications may only be made once during training. The Trainee must be currently enrolled and undergoing training on one of the HCPC approved Music Therapy training programmes either on a full or part-time basis. Applicants do not have to be members of BAMT. Please do not apply if you have already received an award in previous years. 

2. Applications can be accepted for amounts up to £250. Applicants will be asked to re-submit their application if they apply for more than this amount. 

3. Applications must be made using the BAMT Small Grants Application Google Form. 

4. After trainees have completed the form, their course leaders will be contacted nearer the application deadline to confirm attendance of the applicant.

5. Small Grants will cover: 
• Travel expenses 
• Personal therapy 
• Books or learning resources 
• Other related expenses these must be detailed in the application. 

6. Small Grants will not cover: 
• Conference fees 
• University fees 
• Subsistence costs
• Membership fees for associations or societies 
• Music lessons 

7. Applications for the 2023/24 academic year can be submitted before 1st March 2024. 

8. Submissions will be reviewed in March and grants will be awarded in April. 

9. If you are awarded a Small Grant, you will be notified by email with information on how to claim your grant. Payment is made to successful applicants by BACS transfer. 

10. All Small Grants must be claimed by the end of June. 

11. If the trainee leaves the training at any point before graduation for any reason other than academic failure or serious ill health/family need (with evidence), then they will be required to pay back the full amount awarded, to the BAMT. 

12. The applicant agrees to repay BAMT any monies granted as a result of this application if this information is later found to be inaccurate, false or if this money is no longer required for the purposes given. 

13.  DECLARATION BY THE COURSE LEADER  -  BAMT will be contacting the Course Leader nearer the application deadline for confirmation of attendance of the applicant.
