Watercolor Beginner Class: Painting Rocky Landscapes (April Birth Month Promo)
Hello everyone! My name is Grass and I'm currently a graduate student of NIGS, UP Diliman. We as geologists often go out on field works and take note of the outcrops we see as part of our job or study. We try to locate them on the map and describe as best as possible. We also take photos of the outcrops as part of documentation.
In this class, I will try to teach the basics of watercolor and how we can use this amazing medium to sketch and paint rocky landscapes. This class is open to geology students and professionals who want to explore watercolors as medium for painting outcrops and landscapes from reference photos. Since we have limited time and due to my busy schedule, we cannot do the class face-to-face so all paint-with-me sessions will be done every Sunday of April, via Zoom. For this class please prepare the following materials:
1. watercolor set
2. round brushes for watercolor size 6 and 2
3. watercolor paper (preferably Baohong, academie (student) grade, 100% cotton, 300 GSM, cold pressed)
4. clean jar of water
5. clean rag or paper towel
6. mixing palette (a white ceramic or melamine plate will do)
7. drawing pencil (2B and up, we want soft lead for sketching)
8. kneadable eraser (preferred as rubber erasers can ruin watercolor papers)
9. gadget for the Zoom
10. white gel pen or white poster color/gouache paint/pastel pencl
