GEW USA 2022 GEW USA Community Organizer Application
GEN is seeking candidates for our GEW Community Organizer volunteer position. Community Organizers (CO) will serve as an extension of the GEW USA National Organizer in their ecosystem.  

WHO IS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER?
A CO is an ecosystem builder who is well connected in their ecosystem and is able to recruit and unify multiple partners to organize activities during GEW.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZER RESPONSIBILITIES
• The CO will attend at least one GEW USA "First Friday" meeting, but all are encouraged
• The CO is strongly encouraged to build a GEW planning committee of key actors in their ecosystem to
        organize GEW USA
        campaign and recruit people and organizations to participate and host GEW activities or events
• The CO will check in monthly with the GEW USA National Coordinator to provide an update
        on campaign progress
• The CO will coordinate with its state’s selected GEW USA State Coordinator for VIP participants
        and state-wide initiatives when applicable
• The CO and selected committee are required to host at least ONE event or activity during GEW
• The planned event(s) must be registered on the GEW USA website
• The CO and planning committee will collect data about their GEW activities
• The CO must complete the Post GEW USA survey


Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. *This is a volunteer position

Do you have the capacity to build and lead the GEW campaign in your community? *
While you are only responsible for planning at least one activity, you must conduct outreach to organizations in your ecosystem to get involved. We provide outreach materials for this, but you should consider who the actors in your ecosystem are and how they can get involved or share our sample activities with them.
Are you comfortable using Slack? *
Slack is the primary form of communication for GEW USA for updates, reminders, and regular communication.
