AVID- A college and career readiness program in the form of an elective class in 6th grade through high school.  The goal of AVID is to offer additional academic, social, and emotional support that will help students succeed in the most rigorous courses.  AVID is a graded elective class which in sixth grade takes the place of the advisory class(a nongraded required class).  By choosing to be part of the AVID program I understand that I will take part in the AVID curriculum, keep an agenda daily for all classes, and use a binder for organization.   Do you understand what AVID is and do you agree to adhere to the responsibilities of this class?
