Section I: Disclaimer
The privilege of driving to school and parking on campus is afforded to eligible Providence Classical School sophomore, junior, and senior students. Eligible students are defined as Providence Classical School sophomores, juniors, and seniors who hold a valid South Carolina license, or, a valid out of state license, and proof of insurance.
It is the school’s expectation that students will operate motor vehicles in a safe manner, and in accordance with the laws of the city of Rock Hill and the state of South Carolina.
Section II: Student Parking Policy
The student driving policy, regulations, and procedures have been enacted to ensure the safety of our students, pedestrians, faculty/staff, and visitors, while on the campus of Providence Classical School. Students must adhere to the policies disclosed in this application. Violation of any policy, procedure and/or regulation outlined in this packet may result in revocation of driving privileges at Providence Classical School for up to 90 school days.
Additionally, the following regulations apply to students who drive to school:


1. Eligible student drivers must register the vehicle(s) driven to and from school. A vehicle registration form is on the acknowledgement page, which will be kept on file in the office.

2. Students must report all accidents involving their vehicles on school property to administration and the main office.

3. Students are reminded to keep their vehicles locked at all times.

4. Students are not to return to their vehicle until their scheduled departure time, unless administrative permission is granted.

5. Students are prohibited from parking in any location other than the designated parking spaces without administrative approval. A map is included at the end of this packet.

6. The student driver is responsible for the behavior of all the passengers in his/her vehicle. If any person in the vehicle violates school policy, he/she is subject to disciplinary actions as well as the driver.

7. The student driver is prohibited from transporting other students to and/or from school without prior written consent from the parents of both the driver and the passenger(s).

8. Students are not to engage in any of the following:
A. Cutting in line
B. Driving over curbs
C. Excessively blowing car horn
D. Using obscene word or gestures towards other drivers or pedestrians
E. Playing loud music
F. Racing engines
G. Recklessly driving
H. Speeding
I. Spinning wheels
J. Throwing objects out of a vehicle
K. Inappropriate Behavior

9. Students are prohibited from loitering in their cars on school property prior to the start of and after they are dismissed from school.

10. Students are responsible for their own safety while walking from their vehicle to the school entrance. Please be aware of your surroundings.

11. Vehicles parked on Providence Classical School property are subject to random searches by Providence Classical School administration and any other law enforcement agency, as deemed reasonable and appropriate.

12. Providence Classical School does not assume any responsibility for the care and protection of vehicles/ their contents on school grounds.

13. The driver of the registered vehicle, as well as all passengers, must wear a seatbelt at all times while on school property. An unbuckled driver and/or passenger may result in revocation of driving privileges for up to 90 school days.

14. The driver of the registered vehicle may NOT use his/her cell phone while driving on school property. The use of a cell phone by a driver may result in the revocation of driving privileges for up to 90 school days.

15. Students who arrive late to school (after 8:00 AM) must report to the front office to sign in before reporting to class. This includes any students who may be riding with a student driver.


Section III: Actions/ Discipline

1. Failure to follow the above regulations may result in the revocation of driving privileges for a period of up to 90 school days.

2. Leaving school prior to the scheduled departure time, without following the check-out procedures, and/or administrative permission may result in the revocation of driving privileges for a period of up to 90 school days and (2) days Out-of-School Suspension.

3. A student driver transporting another student off school grounds prior to the driver and/or passenger approved departure time without administrative permission, may result in the revocation of privileges for up to 90 school days.
