On Friday, April 12, 2024, the NBJH Wind Ensemble will be traveling to the campus of Plainfield East H.S. (Plainfield, IL) to perform in the Prairie State Middle School Concert Band Festival. This is a prestigious, non-competitive event, where we will receive feedback from nationally-recognized clinicians. The evening will be a culmination of the work your kids have done this year, and a wonderful showcase for their amazing progress! (In response to some questions from the students: yes, this is a required event.)

The itinerary is listed below.

Student Performance Attire:

NBJH Bands t-shirt
full Wind Ensemble uniform (bibbers, jacket)
black dress shoes & socks

Dinner:

We will have dinner at PEHS prior to our performance and clinic. Students should bring at least $7 CASH to purchase their dinner. The pizza is either $4/per slice or $5/meal (pizza slice, chips, & water).

Itinerary for Friday, April 12, 2024

3:35pm — school day ends; students change into uniforms and prepare to depart

4:00pm — depart NBJH, travel to Plainfield East HS, 12001 Naperville Rd, Plainfield, IL 60585

6:00pm — arrive PEHS; pizza dinner

pizza is either $4/per slice or $7/meal (pizza slice, chips, & water)

6:30pm — watch Thompson Jr High Band performance

7:00pm — warm-up

7:30pm — PERFORMANCE!

we will share information for the festival live-stream closer to the day of the event

8:00pm — clinic

8:30pm — depart PEHS, return to NBJH

10:00pm — estimated return time at NBJH
