This survey is to help us determine the level of interest and need for meals for children in Polk County, and how best to distribute meals to families. We have been notified that the USDA meal program that provided free meals to all children in Polk County last spring will now continue to December 31 of this year. All children in Polk County 18 years of age and under are eligible to receive these free meals. Families will be able to pick up these meals from the elementary school in their community. We need to know how many people are interested, and how best to set up the days and times for meal pickup. Distribution will begin on Tuesday, September 8. Please read and respond to each question. You can contact Child Nutrition Director Jennifer Peeler at 828-894-3051 with any questions about meals or this survey.
