Kino Euphoria is back for another workshop! The workshop is hosted at Meriharju, a nature resort where we will sleep, eat and spend time together making films.

This is a fast-paced short film workshop that takes place in Helsinki, Finland. The workshop is open for everyone - no previous experience in filmmaking is required to participate. We welcome beginners and seasoned professionals alike.

On the 20th of August in the evening, we start with a production meeting where anyone with an idea for a short film presents it to the rest of the group. After each presenter has presented their idea and needs (e.g. “I need 2 actors and a forest location” or “I need music and frogs”), filmmaking begins! You can join any film crew you like, in any role you like (actor, editor, sound etc.). We help each other out and plan, shoot & edit the films in a spontaneous way. Two days later we have a premiere at a local cinema.

The event is not a competition nor a battle against time. Our aim is to create new collaborations and experiment in new fields and methods of filmmaking.

The participation fees are as follow:

35€ for non-members, single bed
30€ for members of Euphoria Borealis ry, single bed
30€ for non-members, own tent or sleeping bag
25€ for members of Euphoria Borealis ry, own tent or sleeping bag

Meriharju has 30 single bunk beds available. There's also space to sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag or you can bring your own tent, hammock, van (or any type of arrangement that suits you) to sleep in the woods.
We will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and there will be some snacks and drinks available to purchase.
Every evening we will heat up a traditional Finnish sauna which you can enjoy during the weekend.

We will also follow the current coronavirus recommendations and restrictions in Finland.
