National Concussion Week is September 27 to October 1, 2021. This year, Sport Medicine & Science Council, in partnership with Sport Manitoba and the Provincial Concussion Working Group, is hosting two workshops on concussion education to continue the awareness on the resources and supports available in Manitoba.

Monday September 27 6:00 pm - Allied Health Practitioners
This 90 minute session is to inform medical practitioners the standard practices of concussion recognition and treatment. Through a case study approach, participants will learn various approaches for field of play assessment and diagnoses. Workshop will be divided into a case study and breakout sessions.

Wednesday September 29, 6:00 pm - General Public
This 60 minute session is for anyone who is looking for the basics on concussion awareness, how to recognize the symptoms and where to go for further information or treatment. This session provides an overview of the concussion information that is beneficial to coaches, athletes, parents, officials, teachers, students, and anyone involved in physical activity promotion. Workshop will be a lecture style with a question and answer period.

All sessions will be recorded and available for viewing on demand to registered participants afterwards.
