Thanks for your interest! SOSNA Zoning Committee’s main objective is to provide a forum for residents to learn about and provide feedback on upcoming development projects in the neighborhood. The committee acts as a mediator between neighbors, developers, and city agencies, helping ensure development remains viable while simultaneously addressing the issues and concerns of neighbors.
The Architecture Review Committee (ARC) meets to evaluate project use, open space, historical context, streetscape, and parking that fits with the community master plan and urban design best practices. The committee’s members include professionals with experience in architecture, zoning, development, and design.
We have a little bit of a process to join our zoning committee or architecture review committee:
#1 - We ask that you attend a zoning meeting or two to see what they're all about and chat with some of the members after the meeting. Our meetings are generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM via ZOOM. You can check our website calendar for more details or email
nicoleatsosna@gmail.com.
#2 We ask potential members to complete this form of interest. Your responses will be shared with our Board of Directors and Zoning Committee to review and approve placements. Please include in the letter why you'd like to join the zoning committee, what you can bring to the committee, etc.
#3 - The board(s) review these applications of interest at our monthly board meetings (last Wednesday of the month). Please complete this form by the last Monday of each month so we can get you a prompt response and have you involved in the next month's cycle of zoning project reviews. From there if we get approval from both the board and Zoning Committee, we'll let you on as a trial for a few months then reengage in a few months to see if you'd like to stay on.
Steps #1 and #2 listed above do not need to be in order but we do ask that you complete them all.
