Cloud-Native Geospatial Outreach Day
Have you been working with Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF’s (COG), SpatioTemporal Asset Catalogs (STAC), Zarr or Cloud Optimized Point Clouds (COPC), or have ideas for other cloud-native geospatial formats, workflows, or tools?
Complete this form to submit a Lighting Talk or Tutorial. Lightning talks are short 5-minute briefs that are about use cases, tools, potential challenges, or innovative ideas regarding COG, STAC, Zarr, or COPC. Tutorials are longer sessions (60-90 minutes) that should guide attendees on a particular tool or set of tools, showing off practical examples that help people learn about one or more of the standards and how to use it. Feel free to submit multiple talks and/or tutorials - just submit this form multiple times. The deadline for submissions is April 5th.
Four Things to Know Before You Apply:
1.) Cloud-Native Geospatial will be a two-day virtual event taking place on the 19th and 20th of April, with options to pre-record if times are not suitable. We are still figuring out the exact session times, so please input when you'd be able to present.
2.) We are open to short 5-minute lightning-talks that are about use cases, tools, potential challenges or innovative ideas with COG, STAC, Zarr, or COPC. We are also open to talks about other cloud-native innovations, particular around vector data formats, on a selective basis.
3.) Lightning talks should be focused on the core cloud-native geospatial topics. You can talk about new products, but the focus of the talk should be how they are implementing cloud-native geospatial.
4.) We are committed to diversity in the geospatial industry. We encourage speakers from under-represented groups and seek new ideas and community voices.
