Qualifications 
1. Be 21 years of age or older. 
2. Have the ability to commit to the program for at least 20 hours a week. 
3. Must participate in 27 hours of pre-service training, independent study, 10 hours of court observation, and consent to a criminal records check. 
4. Have the ability to work with a child, family members and professionals using tact, objectivity, and concern. 
5. Have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. 
6. Have an interest in children, their rights, welfare, and special needs. 
7. Have reliable transportation and access to technology.

HOLIDAYS AND OFFICE CLOSURES

Our office observes all Georgia state holidays that our local DFCS office observes. Our office will also close at the discretion of our Executive Director in the event of a natural disaster. Holidays and office closure do not count as worked hours so they will need to be made up. 

DRESS CODE

At our office, we follow a business casual dress code and we ask that our interns exercise good judgment with their clothing. While working in the office, dress pants, khakis, or jeans are all acceptable. Please, however, refrain from wearing jeans with holes/rips, sweatpants, or workout clothes. Tops such as casual shirts, blouses, and sweaters are all acceptable, however, sweatshirts/ hoodies, graphic tees, or crop/halter tops are not.   

For court, please dress in business formal wear. For example, you may wear dress pants, khakis, dresses, appropriately long skirts, blazers, blouses, and button-down shirts. These examples are not an inclusive list but are meant to provide you with appropriate guidelines.
